Petit Planet Luca Arbor: All 40 Levels & Costs
The Petit Planet Luca Arbor explained: every level cost, the unlocks that matter, and a planner for your remaining Luca and Lucasprout.
In this system
The Luca Arbor is the main progression tree in Petit Planet. It is a tree on your planet, and upgrading it literally grows the world: beach, farmland, mountains, weather, more farm plots, more neighbor capacity and cosmetic biomes.
It is also the clearest place to see how the game paces itself. The Final Beta had 40 levels. Costs rise in steps, and the big convenience unlocks are deliberately spaced out.
The costs at a glance
- Total from level 1 to 40: 1000 Luca and 770 Lucasprout in the row-by-row Final Beta table.
- Individual levels cost 0–50 Luca and 0–60 Lucasprout.
- Level 1 is free; the first paid upgrade is level 2.
- The most expensive single levels are 30, 35 and 40 (50 Luca).
A number worth flagging: the community wiki’s summary text says 960 Luca to fully upgrade, but its 40-row table adds up to 1,000 Luca. We use the row-by-row figure and recommend the planner for exact remaining costs. This is exactly the kind of discrepancy that should be visible, not smoothed over.

How to spend Lucasprout
Lucasprout is the scarcer of the two currencies in the early game. It comes from Wandering Stars on Starsea Voyages, daily Season of Snowfall challenges and some story milestones. The expensive sprout levels are 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 (50–60 each), so plan around those rather than spending every sprout the moment you get it.
Luca comes from story progress and is used only on the Arbor. You cannot convert it into Dough, so there is no reason to hoard it beyond the next level.
A sensible upgrade order
- Level 2–3 — farming and the first plots. This is the core loop.
- Level 5 — dirt mounds add a reason to explore your own planet.
- Level 9 — weather, if you are hunting weather-specific creatures.
- Level 13 — mountain area for species variety.
- Level 17 / 24 / 28 — capacity, if you are collecting neighbors.
- Cosmetic levels — whenever you have spare resources and want the planet to look different.
Do not rush level 40. The title is nice, but the mid-game unlocks are more useful per Luca.
