How to catch Painted Lobster
Use the Shellfish Tongs. The exact approach depends on the creature’s category and, for shore-dwellers, its species type.
- Equip the Shellfish Tongs and search the intertidal zone along the beach.
- Shellfish are mostly stationary. The Pearl Oyster is the notable exception and can move.
First catch: the creature is added to the Omnidex. Offer it to Mors at the Omni-Gallery to put it on display and unlock its Omnipedia entry.

Habitat: Intertidal Zone. Distribution: All Regions.
Season: Spring. Time: All Day. Weather: Any Weather. If two of those tags are restrictive, check the creature tracker before you set out.

The painted lobster has vibrant colors all over its body, save for the two plain white antennae on its head.
Favoring ambush tactics from reefs, it often hides between rocks, exposing only its white antennae to scout and keep vigil at the entrance.
Unfamiliar observers might even be startled by these mysterious white appendages that come out of nowhere.
