How to catch Common Flangetail

Use the Insect Net. The exact approach depends on the creature’s category and, for shore-dwellers, its species type.

1. Equip the Insect Net and approach the creature at eye level or on the ground.
2. Most insects can be caught with a simple net swipe; slow down if the species is skittish.
3. Check tree trunks, flowers, shrubs, crops and aerial spaces — the habitat column tells you where this species spawns.

Where and when to find it

Thanks to its massive size advantage, the Common Flangetail is practically "unstoppable" in its territory.

Like other dragonflies, it's fiercely territorial and will bravely fight off any intruder, even its own kind. And more often than not, its larger size secures its final victory.
