How to catch Banded Skimmer

Use the Insect Net. The exact approach depends on the creature’s category and, for shore-dwellers, its species type.

1. Equip the Insect Net and approach the creature at eye level or on the ground.
2. Most insects can be caught with a simple net swipe; slow down if the species is skittish.
3. Check tree trunks, flowers, shrubs, crops and aerial spaces — the habitat column tells you where this species spawns.

The Banded Skimmer is a sexually dimorphic insect.

The male's "band" is typically white, whereas the female's has a yellowish tint. While the difference is very noticeable, getting a clear look at their little "bands" is no easy task when they're flying at high speeds or in low light.
